How do I setup a new image file?

Film Size Guide

If you already have an digital image (from a camera, scanner, etc.), use this guide to confirm that it's large enough to make the print you want. If you do not have an image already, see How do I setup a new image file? or call us for advice.

Find the approximate area of your print in the left column (in square feet or square meters), then read across for the recommended RGB file size in megabytesanything in the highlighted range is fine, but files sizes at the higher-end of the range will give the best results. For example: a print of 350 square feet would require a file of from 50 - 300 MB.

For multiple prints, look up each individually, do not add their square footages together. For CMYK files, add 25% to the file sizes in the table. If you like numbers, and especially if your are creating a new image file, you can also calculate the file size yourself.
